Society changed in different ways due to the uprise of the Black Death whether it was sanitation, public health, religion, politics and language. Society adhered to changes in sanitation and public health brought about through laws implemented to prevent littering. Street sweepers were called into employment and fines were imposed on people who dumped waste in rivers and other sources of drinking water. Religion was also looked apon different as people started to question their beliefs thus weakening the influence of the Catholic Church. Church’s had lost many priest in the Black Death which resulted in many people losing respect for the church. The political scenario experienced a huge shake up as well as a decline in workers left peasants demanding higher wages. Language was an unexpected change as most educated people like monks and scholars spoke Latin or French. They finally had to resort to English which was referred to as Middle English.
